In this episode Holden discusses the shooting of US Senator Gabby Giffords and 19 others (resulting in 6 deaths) in Arizona by Jared Loughner. Holden then takes note of some good advise Dan Savage gives a twenty year old college student that's interested in an older polyamorous couple, and gives some perspective of his own on the scenario. Finally Holden comments on the terrible state of our local and national mainstream news media, and how it feeds some of the most awful political attitudes (and racist attitudes) in our society, particularly the birther issue, with additional comments on the issue by Baratunde Thurston and Goldie Taylor.
